Frequently asked questions
Do you require premarital counseling?
No. I do offer pre-marital counseling for those who want it, but it is totally voluntary.
One of us is Catholic and one of us Lutheran. Is that a problem for you?
No. If one or both of you belong to a church, I encourage you to ask your priest or minister to serve as your officiant. If that is not possible, I will be glad to be of service.
We don’t go to church and we really don’t know what we believe. Is that a problem for you?
No. I trust you are on the path you need to be on. I work with all people, even those who do not profess any sort of religious faith or spiritual path.
Do you have a church building in which we can get married? No. I do not have a parish or congregation as such, but I can certainly recommend churches and other places for you to consider holding your wedding.
Will you marry us in our backyard?
Yes. I travel to where you want to be married. I love outdoor weddings!
Do we have to have a rehearsal?
No. I do not need a rehearsal to officiate a wonderful wedding for you. If it would make you and/or your wedding party and family more comfortable to have a rehearsal, I do offer one.
If we have our own rehearsal, will you coach us?
Yes. Prior to your rehearsal, I will give you hints on how to have a successful rehearsal.
If you officiate our rehearsal, do you also attend the rehearsal dinner afterward?
No. Either I have another rehearsal or I have to go home to finalize your ceremony.
Do you attend the wedding reception?
No. I leave you to enjoy your day. And thank you for the invite
We have been married before. Is that a problem for you?
No, absolutely not. I invite you to think of this NOT as your second marriage, but as your LAST marriage.
We already have kids. Is that a problem for you?
No, absolutely not. Children are a blessing, and I love including them in the ceremony whenever possible.
On a lighter note.
I don't do weddings in the air or under the sea. It is hard to hear and a bit scary for me.
